After three months of intensive talks, the Community of Poppendorf has managed to buy the so-called “Sandstöckl”, a winemaker’s house built as early as 1620. This property built by an anonymous architect, which is unique in today’s Eastern Styria, will be removed during the summer or autumn of 2008 before being rebuilt in the community area of Poppendorf. In the subsequent two years, this property of special architectural, folkloristic and social historical interest will be adapted as a museum and probably opened in the spring of 2010.
